The Warhammer issues on that link are all happen while the game is running. I can't even get that far, mine is failing to download so I think it's more of an XBox app download issue than an issue with Warhammer itself.

Hello dear Gamer, first it's a pleasure to be able to help you today.
My name is Vinicius.
I am a gamer and independent advisor on the XBOX community platform.

Hey Awesohm, how are you today? Hope you're well.

Awesohm, a few gamers have reported the same issue happening to them with this game in particular as well.

There are a few procedures we could try that could help though.

So, let's try this, first, make sure your windows and all its services are up to date:

Open Settings, click Update and Security and then Windows Update;

Click Check for Updates;

Click the Download and Install Now option, if available;

Also, check the Microsoft Store for any updates on the Xbox apps and its services.
______________________________________________________________

Then try this:

Go to windows settings > apps > search for gaming services app > click on it and select advanced options.

After that, click repair and then restore, open the app and try again.

Then do the same for the Xbox app:

Go to windows settings > apps > search for Xbox app > click on it and select advanced options.

After that, click repair and then restore, open the app and try again.

______________________________________________________________

Then, try to uninstall and install the Xbox app. :)

______________________________________________________________

If it still doesn't work you're going to uninstall the games services using a powershell command.

In the windows search bar type Powershell > Right click and select open as administrator > Type the command: "get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-Appxpackage –allusers" > Wait for the process to finish and then restart the PC, then open your Xbox gamepass app, it will ask you to install the gaming services again, install it and try again.

Then, after you do it, you're going to open the game pass app, it will ask you to download and install the game services again

______________________________________________________________

If neither of those procedures works, try to restore your PC's OS via the ISO image tool, using that tool you will be able to maintain your installed games and files.

Hi,

Thank you for the suggestions. I've tried all those and many more, which are listed below. I don't think it's going to make a difference though because I also tried to install on a completely different computer running Windows 10 (original was Windows 11). The Windows 10 machine is actively used and up to date. The install failed on that computer with the same error message. Is there a place to see MS Store outage information? It's looking more like an issue on that end. I am open to any new suggestions.

  • chkdsk

  • disable Windows Firewall

  • disable antivirus

  • resetting the Microsoft Store

  • resetting XBox gaming services

  • Uninstall and re-install XBox app

  • checking for driver updates

  • windows updates

  • network reset

  • sfc /scannow (no errors found)

  • DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

  • Installed a different game from the MS Store / XBox app, it was successful.

  • Ran through these steps: https://www.partitionwizard.com/partitionmanager/xbox-app-not-working.html

  • Tried to trigger the install from the Android app. Installed to C drive instead of D.

  • Deleted Windows Store local cache

  • These steps: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/windows-store-wont-install-any-games/4f14f0e3-e042-4a7b-995f-acf1ffab0f48 Using a wired and wireless connection

  • Reinstalled Windows (kept apps)

  • Tried to download using a different internet service provider

  • Created a new Windows profile

I've the same problem (download stops at 99%). Is there a solution/help for this? I've also tried everything that is written here.

Mine completely installed, but came up with an error when I tried to play it. I uninstalled it and now it won't download, coming up with the same error, now I'm just ignoring it.

I've had nothing but trouble trying to play games on the Xbox app. Microsoft just needs to hire people that know how to code a launcher and store, both are atrocious and a waste of time.

Hello.

Same issue, if you want "any game" to download with Xbox app, you have to reboot your PC.

right now, it looks like Warhammer III give you about 12GB or so and the the XBOX application times out.

this is really a "joke" since the same thing with Avengers, Galaxy and MS Flight SIM (which is even worse, since after you reboot 12 times to get the files, the MS Flight's own installer kicks in and you wait another hour).

What is even worse is the "help" in this thread that tell people to "re install their OS"??? Cause the XBOX windows APP is faulty the recommendation is to reinstall an OS from a backup?

Agreed with above, a horrible waste of time, no wonder they give out game passes.... I wont be renewing that is for sure.. since i dont "play games" rather i play/ work to play with the XBOX App.

This is different than the original issue I posted. Reboots don't help, once the download fails it continues to fail at that point and won't resume.

The last advice I got from MS technical support was to just wait because they fix bugs and this might get fixed. But they didn't collect any logs from me or submit any sort of internal bug report, so I'm not sure how that's going to happen. Their support doesn't offer you any more than you'd find from a Google search and then gives up.

Best to just buy from Steam instead, much more reliable and better support.
